Job Title: Senior Radiation Protection Technician
About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified Senior Radiation Protection Technician to join our team at BHI Energy. As a key member of our nuclear power plant maintenance team, you will be responsible for evaluating radiological conditions in the workplace and implementing controls to maintain radiation exposures as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA).
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate radiological conditions in the nuclear plant and implement necessary safety measures
- Perform dose rate, contamination, and airborne radioactivity surveys
- Control access to radioactive material through labeling and posting
- Provide briefings and guidance to plant personnel on radiological safety procedures
- Measure and record radiation levels, and perform related work
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans
- Mathematics knowledge, including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
- Mechanical knowledge, including machines and tools, piping systems, and repair/maintenance
- Ability to pass knowledge exams and performance evaluations administered through the EPRI process
