Role Summary
The Designer I provides experiential graphic design project support on a cross-functional team of architects, interior designers, and other graphic designers. Typical projects can include architectural graphics, signage, wayfinding, and light digital applications. The Designer I supports all phases of design, including initial design strategy and concepts, presentation graphics, design development, final design documentation, and final artwork preparation under the direction of others. This role is ideal for an individual who is collaborative, detail-minded, and eager to grow in both their general design capabilities as well as the technical knowledge unique to the field of experiential graphic design.

Responsibilities
- Supports the delivery of strategic solutions and high-quality creative concepts alongside other Designers.
- Understands and applies graphic systems across a range of design applications.
- Delivers assigned tasks on time that are accurate, complete, and coordinated with related project information and project team.
- Meets quality expectations through disciplined self-checks, accurate incorporation of manager feedback, and QA QC follow-through—minimizing repeat errors and rework within assigned scope.
- Demonstrates growing proficiency in producing and coordinating assigned project deliverables by identifying conflicts early and resolving routine issues with increasing independence.
- Escalates higher-risk items appropriately and applies lessons learned to reduce repeat issues.
- Applies BHDP standards for tools, documentation, and file organization to maintain project consistency and internal alignment across projects.
- Uses approved resources (templates, standards, typicals) appropriately and maintains internal alignment across the work.
- Communicates clear status, roadblocks, and next steps to the project team and/or manager and closes loops within expected timeframes.
- Works with others and cooperates respectfully by incorporating feedback accurately and flagging concerns early with clear questions and/or proposed next steps.
- Manages assigned time and scope to meet deadlines and planned hours, escalating scope/time risks early with clear next steps.
- Submits accurate, on-time weekly timesheets for client billing and understands how project timekeeping and utilization impact project accounting and profitability.
- Bachelor of Graphic Design degree preferred, or other related design degree
- Previous internships preferred
- Experience with architectural projects preferred
- Adobe Creative Cloud proficiency
- Sketch-Up experience preferred
