Position Overview
Our client, a global technology company, is seeking a Senior Director of Global Tax Strategy & Planning to lead the organization's worldwide tax strategy and planning function. This executive-level role will partner closely with senior leadership to develop tax strategies that support business growth, mergers and acquisitions, international expansion, and long-term shareholder value.
The ideal candidate is a strategic tax leader with deep international tax expertise, experience advising executive leadership, and a proven ability to build scalable tax structures within a complex multinational organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company's global tax strategy aligned with long-term business objectives and shareholder value.
- Advise executive leadership on mergers and acquisitions, capital allocation, financing structures, legal entity optimization, and international expansion.
- Design and implement tax-efficient domestic and international operating structures to support growth and scalability.
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Treasury, Corporate Development, and business leaders on strategic initiatives.
- Lead international and domestic tax planning while balancing compliance, risk management, and business objectives.
- Monitor global tax legislation and regulatory developments and recommend proactive planning strategies.
- Oversee enterprise tax risk management, governance, and tax controversy matters.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing global tax team while fostering collaboration and business partnership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field.
- CPA or State Bar admission required.
- 15 years of progressive international tax experience within a multinational corporation, Big Four firm, or other complex global organization.
- Extensive experience leading international tax planning, global structuring, and transaction advisory initiatives.
- Strong background advising executive leadership on M&A, financing structures, business expansion, and international operations.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional strategic initiatives.
- Proven leadership experience developing high-performing tax organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's in Taxation (MST), JD, or LL.M. in Taxation.
- Experience with global tax policy, international tax reform, and cross-border tax planning.
- Experience in technology, telecommunications, or related industry.
