Bgesh is looking for eager and qualified Medical Assistant to provide support services and assistance by performing medical support assistance, record keeping and miscellaneous support associated with beneficiaries at the Santa Fe Indian Health Center. May be required to travel to San Felipe, Cochiti, and Santa Clara Indian Health Center as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS :
- High School Diploma
- Degree or diploma from a medical assistant program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Minimum of Twelve (12) months of experience as a licensed Medical assistant.
- Possess a current, valid, unrestricted medical assistant license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States
- Maintain an American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to pass a federal government background Check
- Ability to provide proof of all vaccinations.
- Ability to travel and support surrounding Indian Health Centers
- Advance Cardiac life Support (ACLS), Preferred.
- Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS), Preferred.
DUTIES:
Assist with screening of patients.
Assist in collecting COVID specimens.
Assist in supporting COVID vaccine clinics.
Provide supporting efforts to identify and isolate COVID patients.
Assist with venipuncture and specimen collection, and preparation for shipment to laboratory for processing.
Assist with nursing visits for vaccination administration, and other medication administration and screenings.
Assist in direct patient care services to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients at the IHS Urgent Care, Outpatient Department, and/or other IHS Healthcare Service locations.
Assist in answering patient calls, documenting patients' health issues and reporting to nurses; and/or
Assist in other support services as directed by the physicians and nurses
Observe and assess a patient's clinical condition, recognize, identify and interpret serious situations and immediately decide proper action (e.g., inform physician or take pre-planned measures).
Perform Point of Care Testing such as urinalysis. pregnancy tests. rapid strep tests, rapid influenza tests and blood glucose tests.
Perform phlebotomy duties.
Perform satisfactory standards of competence, conduct, appearance and integrity.
Abide by the IHS facility standards of conduct and the policies and procedures ofthe service unit and assigned department/unit.
Perform and ensure their employee completes the required documents for the character investigation in compliance with Public Law (P.L) IO1-630 Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Act of 1990.
Cooperate with the appropriate IHS managers when the contractor's employees are subpoenaed or requested by the Tribal. State or Federal Parties to provide testimony as stated in Section 5-27.3(8)(9) of the Indian Health Manual

- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand for extended periods of time, as well as climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
SCHEDULE & PAY:
- 40hrs a week Monday-Friday.
- May be required to travel to San Felipe, Cochiti, and Santa Clara Indian Health Center as needed.
- Pay Rate: Negotiable
