Summary:
The Systems Implementation Manager oversees the full lifecycle of Warehouse Management System (WMS) implementations and technology deployments across BGDC sites. This role bridges operations and IT, ensuring that WMS configurations, integrations, and process workflows align with operational needs and drive measurable business outcomes. The position leads AI and automation initiatives, manages system integrations, and serves as the primary point of contact for technology implementations that support BGDC's growth and operational excellence.
Salary Range: $100,000-$120,000, plus bonus potential
Work Structure: Hybrid role with travel required to multiple locations across Missouri, Virginia, and Georgia.
Essential Functions:
- Lead end-to-end WMS implementation projects, including configuration, testing, data migration, and deployment. Serve as the primary liaison between operations, IT teams, and WMS vendors (ASCTrac). Translate business requirements into WMS configurations that align with operational workflows. Conduct unit, systems, and integration testing; oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Serve as the primary SME and train all staff on WMS usage. Provide hyper-care support during and after go-live, ensuring smooth transitions and rapid issue resolution. Document application implementation processes in accordance with operational standards.
- Lead AI Vision pilots including receiving accuracy verification, load verification, and ghost picking detection. Partner with operations leadership to identify automation opportunities that drive efficiency and accuracy. Evaluate and implement AI-driven solutions for inventory management, quality control, and labor optimization. Manage vendor relationships for AI/ML tools and ensure successful integration with WMS and ERP systems. Track pilot performance metrics and develop business cases for scaling successful initiatives.
- Oversee integration of WMS with Portal2i, ERP systems, EDI platforms, and customer-specific systems. Ensure seamless data flow between warehouse operations and customer-facing reporting platforms. Maintain strong understanding of SQL and data analysis tools to support reporting and troubleshooting. Manage API integrations with carrier systems, vendor portals, and third-party logistics platforms.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation. Serve as the primary point of contact for system implementation projects across all BGDC sites. Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. Manage change initiatives, ensuring adoption and proficiency across operational teams. Coordinate training programs for end-users and site leadership on new systems and processes.
- Analyze warehouse operations and design optimized workflows that align with system capabilities. Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, throughput, and labor productivity through technology. Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, and system configuration guides.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in IT, supply chain technology, or systems implementation. 2 years of hands-on WMS implementation experience (ASCTrac experience strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated experience managing full-lifecycle technology deployments from discovery to hyper-care support.
- Experience with AI/automation technologies in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
- Background in 3PL, distribution, or e-commerce fulfillment operations preferred.
- Strong proficiency in WMS configuration, testing methodologies, and deployment frameworks. Working knowledge of SQL and data analysis tools.
- Experience with EDI, API integrations, and ERP system connectivity.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile/Scrum preferred).
- Understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and fulfillment processes.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-phased projects with competing priorities.
- Ability to translate business needs into technology solutions and roadmaps.
