Outdoor Recreational Coordinator

The Oleta River Outdoor Center, part of the BG Signature Parks family, is looking for a self-driven, energetic Outdoor Recreation Coordinator to join our phenomenal team. The position starts at $17.00 an hour plus tips**. We are located inside Oleta River State Park in North Miami Beach.

Our ideal candidate is personable, ambitious and reliable. Takes initiative at the tasks at hand, and has great customer service skills. Experience in paddle sports is a plus, but not needed. Must have at least one year experience in management.

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

General Operations

*Oversee the Recreation department, which includes but is not limited to: water vessel fleet, bike fleet, Tour Department equipment etc. under guidance of the Operations Manager *Ensures that all equipment is up to par for operations *Hands on cashiering, rentals and tours department when needed *Ensure business quality standards are met *Ensure all areas of operation are up to par with sanitation and safety supplies *Submit all reports in a complete and timely fashion

Human Resources

*Hold the team accountable for their performance; provide coaching and counseling as needed *Develop and implement best practices to maximize team efficiencies *Ensure staff is up to date with any new rules and regulations provided to us by the BG Signature and the DEP (Department of Environmental Protection). *Aids Operations manager in scheduling and staffing

Accounting

*Staff and schedule appropriately to control labor costs *Ensure Manager on Duty (“MOD”) reports are done daily

QUALIFICATIONS:

*Management Experience (1 Year Minimum) *AA Degree Minimum or equivalent education *Proficient in mathematical skills *Proficient in Microsoft programs *Strong attention to detail *Ability to listen & communicate effectively *Ability to work well under pressure *Be a team player *Willingness to work outdoors in the elements *Must be self-motivated *Must be able to swim *Must have reliable transportation *Exhibit a positive friendly and helpful attitude to our guests and crew members *Experience in Parks & Recreation is a plus * *Experience with heavy machinery and tools is a plus* *Lifeguard certification is a plus* *Boaters license is a plus* *Bilingual is a plus* *Must be CPR/ First Aid certified*

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $17.00 - $19.00/hour.
