Duties
- Safely operate box trucks, vans, or personal vehicles to deliver packages along designated routes
- Load and unload shipments using manual handling techniques
- Adhere strictly to traffic regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) guidelines, and safety protocols during all driving activities
- Manage deliveries efficiently by planning routes using mobile devices and GPS technology to optimize time and fuel consumption
- Provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely deliveries and addressing recipient inquiries professionally
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe operation throughout the shift
- Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy packages, including manual lifting and moving items of various weights
Experience
- Prior warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is preferred
- Experience in commercial driving, including box truck or van driver roles, is highly valued, but not mandatory
- Delivery driver experience demonstrating safe driving habits and route management skills is a plus
- Knowledge of manual transmission vehicles or experience with manual handling equipment such as pallet jacks enhances your candidacy
- Ability to lift heavy packages safely and perform manual handling tasks regularly
- Familiarity with DOT regulations, weight handling in the workplace, and mobile device usage for route navigation is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills combined with reliable delivery driving experience will set you apart
