Maintenance Technician

BFG Property Management is looking for an energetic and dedicated Maintenance Technician for an apartment community in Atlanta, GA. We are seeking a motivated self-starter who is looking for the opportunity to showcase their skills in a fast-paced and dynamic property.

The Ideal Candidate should have a full understanding of the roles and responsibilities typically expected of a multifamily maintenance technician. The Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance and repair to ensure apartment homes and other property facilities are in good working order.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintenance improvement projects
  • Maintain the upkeep and repair of the property and grounds
  • Assist with periodic inspections of the property and apartments
  • Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy
  • Perform work order requests
  • Complete seasonal maintenance such as maintaining sprinkling systems, pool area, and snow removal

· Assist with the proper maintenance of landscaping

  • Report unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property or residents
  • Be aware of and always operate within OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company policies and procedures.
  • Remain knowledgeable concerning company and community policies and procedures
  • Have knowledge regarding emergency procedures including water and gas meter shut off valves, all apartment and fixture shut off valves and sewer clean out valve locations
  • Clean and secure work areas, storage areas, tools and equipment.
  • Responsible for courteous, efficient response at all times
  • Responsible for maintaining the required uniform and always ensuring a professional appearance and attitude
  • Participate in standby emergency schedule for evening, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed
  • Assist in ensuring that all lights are maintained and in working order for the entire property
  • Assist the Property Manager and leasing staff with leasing as deemed necessary including check-in and checkout inspections
  • Assist Property Manager in any other duties as needed to obtain community and company objectives

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 1 years of experience in multifamily property management, facility maintenance, and/or mechanical repair
  • Trade Skills including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, framing, painting, roofing, cabinetry, pools, appliance, etc.
  • Must have good reasoning and problem-solving skills and be able to deal with conflict situations. Organization and time management, sales and customer service skills are also essential.
  • Should be able to communicate effectively with residents, vendors and other employees of the company.
  • The Maintenance Technician is expected to be available twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week for on-call maintenance and emergency situations including after-hours weekends and holidays. Traveling for meetings and training events is required.
  • Professional attire and grooming are required.
  • Essential functions may require lifting a minimum of seventy-five (75) lbs., strenuous activity for extended periods of time, interior and exterior work, working with equipment and/or chemicals

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
