Job Summary
The System Administrator β Network supports BEA's enterprise network infrastructure, Microsoft 365/Exchange environment, and IT security initiatives at the Suitland Federal Center and Bowie Computer Center. This position is the primary technical resource responsible for network operational support, M365/Exchange account and license management, FOIA response support via Office 365 tools, printer/print queue management, patch deployment, and implementation of federal IT security mandates. The role also supports the on-premises to cloud migration of BEA applications and assists with COOP activities and strategic infrastructure initiatives. This position reports 100% on-site at BEA Suitland.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 (M365) and Exchange including accounts, licenses, resource accounts, and operational support
- Administer and maintain Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) and associated web services
- Leverage Office 365 tools to support and respond to FOIA requests
- Manage BEA printers, print queues, and peripheral devices; assist in distributing and relocating hardware
- Recommend and implement policies, procedures, and technologies to enhance BEA network security infrastructure
- Implement state-of-the-art infrastructure security technologies to protect BEA IT assets
- Test and deploy vendor patches and updates; implement federal IT security-related mandates and policies
- Assist in migrating on-premises applications to Microsoft Azure cloud environment
- Monitor network operating systems; check server application logs and performance metrics
- Administer and maintain SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) and Microsoft Intune
- Administer and maintain VMware virtual infrastructure
- Support COOP activities including relocation of BEA IT assets and offsite testing at contingency locations within DC metro
- Support BOD 15-01 implementation requirements
- Provide network support for 500 BEA end users including executive staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of enterprise network administration and Microsoft 365/Exchange administration experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and SharePoint administration
- Experience administering SCCM/Configuration Manager and Microsoft Intune endpoint management
- Working knowledge of VMware virtualization administration
- Experience supporting 500 end-user enterprise environments in a federal or government contractor context
- Experience applying and tracking vendor patches; familiarity with Software Change Request (SCR) processes
- U.S. citizenship; must satisfy minimum Tier 1 background investigation; Tier 2/4 may apply
- Ability to obtain and maintain PIV credentials at Suitland Federal Center
Preferred Skills
- CompTIA Security , Network , or equivalent DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II certification
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or equivalent
- Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud migration and hybrid environments
- Familiarity with BOD 15-01 (CISA Binding Operational Directive) implementation requirements
- Experience with FOIA request processing using M365 tools
- Experience at a federal agency site within the DC/Maryland metropolitan area
- Knowledge of federal FISMA/NIST SP 800-53 security controls applicable to network administration
