About Bezel

Bezel is the first technology company purpose-built for high-end watches. We’re building a fully authenticated marketplace designed to bring transparency, trust, and liquidity to one of the most passionate collecting categories in the world.

The global secondary watch market now exceeds $30B annually and continues to grow, but the buying experience has remained fragmented and opaque. Bezel is changing that. We’re rethinking the entire ownership journey, from discovery and transaction to authentication and market intelligence.

Our team includes collectors, operators, and technologists working together to modernize how luxury watches are bought and sold. The result is a marketplace built to meet the expectations of today’s collectors while honoring the standards of the watch industry.

Watch Operations at Bezel

Authentication and trust are core to the Bezel experience. Buying a watch should feel as good as wearing one.

Our Watch Operations team runs the infrastructure that makes that possible. This team manages the distribution network responsible for authenticating watches, fulfilling orders, and ensuring every timepiece arrives exactly as expected.

The Role

As a Watchmaker at Bezel, you’ll work alongside a team of passionate horologists helping power one of the most trusted platforms in the industry.

You’ll handle a wide range of watches from the world’s leading brands, inspecting and verifying each piece before it reaches a buyer. Your work directly supports the integrity of the marketplace and ensures our standards scale alongside the growth of the platform.

This role sits at the intersection of traditional watchmaking and modern marketplace operations in a fast-moving, high-growth environment focused on elevating the online luxury watch experience.

Responsibilities

Quality assurance and quality control are fundamental to how Bezel operates. Every watch that moves through our platform goes through a rigorous authentication process to confirm it matches the condition described in its listing.

  • Authenticate, inspect, and test incoming watches to verify condition and originality
  • Perform inbound diagnostics including timing analysis, pressure testing, and functional evaluation
  • Verify the performance of movements and all complications
  • Conduct movement authentication and detailed movement diagnostics
  • Uncase and case watches as required for inspection, repair, or servicing
  • Diagnose and resolve waterproofing issues, including gasket and pressure-related problems
  • Perform refinishing work including polishing and cosmetic restoration when needed
  • Service and repair movements according to manufacturer and internal quality standards
  • Size, clean, and prepare bracelets and components for final delivery
  • Document diagnostic findings and authentication details for internal teams including Authentication and Concierge
  • Produce detailed inspection and authentication records for every watch processed
  • Maintain watchmaking tools, equipment, and workspace standards
  • Manage and organize watch parts inventory, tools, and consumables

Qualifications

Applicants must be located in the United States or authorized to work in the US.

  • Minimum 2–5 years of professional watchmaking experience in a service center, workshop, or luxury retail repair environment. (If newly graduated watchmaker, 1–2 years, equivalent to 1,600–3,000 hours of bench training, and graduation with high marks, required.)
  • Completion of a recognized watchmaking training program or certification (e.g., WOSTEP, AWCI, or equivalent apprenticeship or horology program).
  • Ongoing technical training or manufacturer service certifications are considered a plus.
  • This role reports directly to our Watchmaking Department Manager and is based in our Los Angeles office.
