Position Overview:
The Director of Safety (DS) is the senior leader responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the airline’s Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with FAA Part 121 requirements. The DS is the primary point of contact with the FAA for all safety-related matters and plays a critical role in shaping a proactive, data-driven safety culture throughout the airline.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee the company-wide SMS consistent with 14 CFR Part 5 requirements.
- Conduct and oversee safety risk assessments for new routes, equipment, airports, and procedures.
- Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and safety performance targets.
- Lead the Safety Review Board (SRB) and chair the Safety Action Team meetings.
- Maintain SMS documentation, manuals, and safety risk management processes.

- Minimum 7–10 years of airline or aviation safety experience (Part 121 or Part 135).
- Demonstrated leadership experience in Safety, SMS, or regulatory compliance roles.
- Strong knowledge of 14 CFR Part 121, Part 5, and FAA safety programs (FOQA, ASAP, ASRS, ASIAS).
- Experience managing investigations, risk assessments, and CAPs.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
