About Beyond Young Academy
Beyond Young Academy is a premier enrichment center serving K–12 students in New Jersey. We are committed to providing high-quality instruction in mathematics, reading & writing, public speaking, business, and competition preparation through small-group learning and individualized attention.
We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Elementary Math Teacher to join our team and help students build strong mathematical foundations, confidence, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Teach elementary mathematics to students in Grades K–5 in small-group settings.
- Deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that promote conceptual understanding and mathematical thinking.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to parents and academy leadership.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying skill levels.
- Maintain a positive, supportive, and academically focused classroom environment.
- Collaborate with the academic team on curriculum planning and student development.
- Prepare lesson materials, homework assignments, and enrichment activities as needed.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification (New Jersey teaching certificate preferred).
- Prior experience teaching mathematics to elementary-aged students.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and effectively to young learners.
Preferred
- Experience teaching in New Jersey public or private schools.
- Familiarity with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) for Mathematics.
- Experience with Singapore Math, problem-solving approaches, or enrichment mathematics programs.
- Experience preparing students for advanced math pathways and competitions is a plus.
- Master's degree in Education or a related field is a plus.
Schedule
- Part-time, after-school hours.
- Typical teaching hours: weekdays between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
- Additional opportunities available during school breaks and summer programs.
Compensation
- Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and qualifications.
