What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher Assistant position at Beyond the Lines Preschool?
We are looking for an energetic, passionate, creative, warm, and self -motivated teacher assistant to join our progressive play based school community.
Educators at Beyond the Lines Preschool teach in nurturing play, and inquiry based environments, which meet the emotional, social, intellectual, and physical needs of young children. Teachers co-research topics with children and colleagues to create a curriculum that supports these lines of inquiry.
Preferred qualifications include:
- 12-24 units in early childhood education.
- Ability to develop and maintain close parent relationships
- Some familiarity with fundamental principles of play based learning
- Some experience working with infants and preschool age children.
- Paid Internship offered
Responsibilities:
- Available to work part-time, Monday-Friday within the time frame of school business hours ; between 20-25 hours per week. Preferred time frames are not guaranteed but will be considered.
- Provide direct supervision of children with an awareness of community care licensing Title 22 requirements.
- Willingness to be flexible within duties required. Be able to support and transition through all classrooms to support the break and meeting times of other teachers.
- Maintain regular and open communication with parents .
- Maintain the set-up of an appropriate environment (as the third teacher) both indoors and outdoors. As a daily responsibility replenish and refresh these environments to support children's growing interests.
- Required to attend staff meetings.
- Required to attend staff development days & workshops
- Must have CPR/First Aid Certification
- Live Scan Clearance
- Must have mandated reporter training certificate
- TB Clearance
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
