The Beyond the Bell Site Director is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and day-to-day operations of afterschool programs at designated schools within the Independent Mission Schools (IMS) network. This role ensures that all programs are aligned with IMS’s mission and educational goals, while fostering a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment for students.
$25/hour | Monday–Friday, 3:00–6:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development and Implementation
- Collaborate with the Beyond the Bell Dean to design and implement comprehensive afterschool programming tailored to meet the academic, social, and recreational needs of students.
- Create engaging curricula and activities that reinforce IMS values and support student growth and learning.
- Ensure programs are inclusive and culturally responsive, supporting the diverse needs of all participants.
Staff Management
- Play an active role in the recruitment and selection of afterschool teaching and support staff by providing input on hiring decisions in collaboration with the Beyond the Bell Dean.
- Support onboarding and training of new staff to ensure alignment with program expectations and IMS values.
- Supervise and evaluate program staff regularly to ensure high-quality instruction, effective classroom management, and student engagement.
- Foster a collaborative, professional work culture that promotes open communication and team accountability.
- Manage daily staffing needs, addressing absences and time-off requests in coordination with the Dean to ensure continuous program coverage.
Operations Management
- Oversee the daily operations of the afterschool program, ensuring programs run smoothly and efficiently.
- Develop and maintain program schedules, ensuring effective time management and coordination of activities.
- Monitor student attendance and engagement, and track key metrics to evaluate program performance.
Budget and Resource Management
- Assist in managing the afterschool program’s budget in collaboration with the Beyond the Bell Dean.
- Ensure resources are used effectively and all expenditures comply with IMS financial policies.
- Submit weekly staff hours to the Dean for accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Family and Community Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for families regarding afterschool program matters, addressing questions, concerns, and feedback.
- Support the Dean in planning and executing community events such as Tournaments to increase family engagement and strengthen school-community ties.
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure program compliance with all local and state regulations, including those related to child safety, health, and supervision.
- Implement and uphold safety policies and procedures to protect students and staff.
Evaluation and Reporting
- Collaborate with the Beyond the Bell Dean to design and implement evaluation tools that assess student progress and program impact.
- Provide regular reports and feedback on session outcomes, successes, and areas for improvement.
- Use data to inform ongoing program enhancement and planning efforts.
