JOB TITLE: Data Automation and AI Intern
SUMMARY: The intern will play an active role in designing and optimizing workflows that extract, clean, and merge data from multiple sources into a central data warehouse. They will also contribute to evaluating and recommending the tools and technologies that best fit our needs as we build an automated, AI-assisted dashboard for organization-wide decision-making.
SUCCESSION PATH: Successful incumbents may be considered for advancement into Data Automation and AI Specialist (or others based on interest) based on organizational need and readiness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with data extraction from multiple SaaS platforms using APIs or automation tools.
- Help clean, standardize, and validate data to ensure accuracy and usability.
- Support data integration and workflow automation processes across platforms.
- Research, test, and help determine which tools, frameworks, or AI solutions best support our data goals.
- Collaborate with staff to design and develop visual dashboards and performance reports.
- Document data workflows and contribute insights for improving efficiency and automation.

Manages multiple data-related tasks in a structured and methodical way, including tracking workflows, organizing datasets, and documenting processes. Prioritizes work effectively across extraction, cleaning, integration, and reporting activities while contributing to the development of efficient, repeatable data processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of APIs, ETL processes, and cloud-based systems.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Enthusiasm for using technology and AI to modernize non-profit operations.
