Overview
Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Technology Development Engineer, supporting the Test Operations and Sustainment contract at Arnold Engineering Development Complex at Arnold AFB, TN. The individual will be working as a member of the Engineering Solutions branch responsible for supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts. The Engineering Solutions branch performs cutting-edge technology development work in support of the National Defense Strategy.

This role involves hands-on development of technologies, process optimization, and collaboration with a team of engineers to produce and qualify these new systems. The candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, eager to learn, and dedicated to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Job Duties
- Develop solutions for a variety of aerospace ground test technology development projects.
- Implement modeling & simulation techniques to assess technology designs.
- Collaborate with design and analysis teams to apply Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) principles to new and existing parts.
- Assist in the development and execution of test plans for system development, material characterization and process qualification.
- Investigate and implement novel test techniques and diagnostics for aerospace ground test facilities.
- Work to transition technologies successfully into the mission areas including developing transition plans.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related scientific/engineering discipline from an accredited university, and a minimum of two (2) years of professional engineering experience; OR Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related scientific/engineering discipline from an accredited university.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance and maintain authorized user access to the AEDC local area network.
- S. Citizenship is required due to federal government contract compliance requirements and the necessity to access secure federal databases and networks on Arnold Air Force Base.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, Creo, or SOLIDWORKS).
- Familiarity with metal additive manufacturing processes and materials (e.g., Copper, Inconel, stainless steel).
- Familiarity with modeling techniques for systems (e.g., FEA, CFD).
- Useful skills include thermodynamics, systems engineering, and design principles.
- Experience with supersonic and hypersonic facilities systems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
