Medical Biller

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Biller for a large neurology group, where your expertise will drive the financial health of our practice and ensure seamless revenue cycle management. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurate billing and coding, some payment posting, and answering patient phone calls. We are looking for someone with medical billing experience who pays attention to detail to help us deliver exceptional customer service to our patients while maintaining compliance with industry standards. This position offers an engaging environment where your skills in medical billing will directly impact patient care and the success of our practice.

Duties

• Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using Veradigm (Allscripts), ensuring compliance with all coding standards including CPT and ICD-10.
• Verify patient insurance coverage.
• Maintain comprehensive and organized medical records related to billing transactions, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Stay current with industry updates regarding ICD coding updates, CPT changes, and evolving billing regulations to uphold accuracy and compliance.
• Answer patient phone calls and assist with their billing inquires or taking payments.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Proficiency in Veradigm (Allscripts).
• Expertise in medical coding including ICD and CPT coding.
• Experience in the revenue cycle management processes.
• Familiarity with medical records management practices ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
• Excellent attention to detail combined with active problem-solving skills to resolve billing discrepancies swiftly.
• Experience in customer service and communication including, but not limited to answering patient phone calls, addressing patient billing inquiries and taking patient payments.
