About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic, experienced, and exceptionally proactive Lead Account Manager / Head of Client Services to serve as the primary connection between our key accounts and internal deliverable teams. This is a senior leadership role that requires someone who is relentlessly organized, an over communicator by nature, and deeply experienced in agency account management and digital marketing strategy.
You will own the client relationship for our most important accounts, lead and mentor the account management team, and serve as the critical go-between ensuring that client needs are clearly translated into deliverables and that deliverables consistently meet or exceed expectations. You set the standard for communication, organization, and accountability across the entire client services function.
Essential Functions
Client Relationship & Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for key accounts, building deep, long-term client relationships rooted in trust, transparency, and results
- Maintain an overcommunication standard—clients and internal teams should never have to wonder about status, next steps, or timelines. Proactively provide updates before being asked
- Lead weekly client status calls, send end-of-week recap emails, and deliver weekly/monthly dashboard reports and performance summaries
- Set and enforce communication standards across the account management team, including Teams responsiveness (Monday–Friday), email protocols, and proactive outreach cadence
- Manage client expectations with professionalism and confidence, addressing concerns before they escalate and keeping all stakeholders aligned
Account Management & Project Oversight
- Oversee all operational aspects of client engagements from onboarding and kickoff through execution and completion, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and task tracking to keep all client work on schedule and within budget
- Coordinate and direct workflows between clients and internal deliverable teams (creative, digital, production,
- events), acting as the central hub that keeps everything moving
- Review scopes of work, confirm deliverables, and ensure all team members understand client goals and priorities before work begins
- Post a daily Plan of Attack, participate in daily team huddles, and provide clear status updates on every active client and project
- Monitor client budgets and marketing spend, maximizing ROI and flagging any scope or budget concerns early
Digital Marketing Strategy & Expertise
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of core digital marketing services including SEO, SEM/PPC, social media marketing, email marketing, content strategy, and web analytics
- Review client dashboards and ad platform performance regularly to ensure KPIs and success metrics are on track, proactively flagging issues or opportunities
- Collaborate with digital strategy and execution teams to develop and refine campaign strategies that align with client business objectives
- Translate digital marketing performance data into clear, actionable insights for clients—communicating what the numbers mean and what to do next
- Stay current on digital marketing trends, platform changes, and best practices to continuously bring value and fresh thinking to client engagements
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Lead, mentor, and develop the account management team, setting expectations for communication, organization, responsiveness, and client service excellence
- Establish and enforce team processes, workflows, and standards that ensure consistency and quality across all client engagements
- Conduct regular check-ins with account managers to review workloads, troubleshoot challenges, and ensure all accounts are receiving proper attention
- Drive a culture of proactive problem-solving, ownership, and accountability across the client services function
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify opportunities for account growth, upselling, and new business development
Strategic & Brand Development
- Develop and lead campaign marketing strategies and plans for clients based on sound business analysis, aligned with their objectives—creative, compelling, and differentiated
- Support client campaign launches including creative brief development, interaction with and feedback to the design team, and coordination across cross-functional teams
- Develop clear positioning and brand identity for clients and ensure consistency across all marketing materials and touchpoints
- Summarize marketing program feedback and results for senior management, share best practices across the organization, and leverage learnings to shape future programming

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field ideal
- 5 years of account management experience in a marketing or advertising agency environment (required)
- 2 years in a senior or leadership account management role with direct team oversight
- Strong understanding of digital marketing strategy and core services: SEO, SEM/PPC, social media, email marketing, content strategy, web analytics, and paid media
- Demonstrated experience managing key/enterprise-level client accounts and multi-channel campaigns
- Proven ability to develop, lead, and execute marketing strategies and campaign plans
- Ability to think strategically and communicate recommendations confidently to executive-level clients
- Experience with long-term brand planning, positioning, and identity development
- Strong balance of creative thinking and analytical skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills—you are an exceptional communicator in every medium
- Highly proficient with project management tools, Slack, presentation software, and Excel/Google Sheets
- Experience with marketing dashboards, analytics platforms, and reporting tools
- Openness to embracing new technology platforms and workflows
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with event marketing, live marketing, or experiential campaigns
- Familiarity with creative production workflows (design, video, web development)
- Background in brand storytelling and integrated marketing across digital and traditional channels
- Experience contributing to new business pitches and organic account growth
