LVCK is the environmental graphic design studio of Beyer Blinder Belle Architects & Planners. Led by Chris King and Laura Varacchi, the 10-person studio is a mix of signage and marketing designers developing design solutions for private clients, government agencies, and non-profits. Beyer Blinder Belle is a company of 170 professionals in New York City, Boston, Miami, and Washington, DC, engaged in architecture, planning, interiors, and environmental graphic design. Our work is guided by a persistent exploration of historic, cultural, and civic meaning, while our design is contemporary and reflects the materials and technology of today.
A graphic design intern will work as part of the LVCK team, while being exposed to the 130 person NY Office and company-wide educational sessions and collaborations. Our work runs the gamut of 2D and 3D applications, including signage, wayfinding, environmental graphic design projects, and print and digital design to support our existing clients. The LVCK team also provides BBB with corporate branding and marketing collateral. The graphic design intern will work with LVCK’s Marketing Graphic Designer and interface with the BBB Marketing team. The work will focus primarily on print, PDF, and website deliverables. You will be asked to: handle a variety of tasks and deadlines, discuss work with colleagues, hear first-hand from firm Principals, and are encouraged to participate in the extracurricular life of the firm.
Applicants should possess a range of aptitudes and interests: ability to think and express oneself graphically, spatially, and verbally; interest in the built environment and information design; passion for graphic design and branding; ability to think strategically; and an interest in materials and processes. Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite software (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) is essential.
The salary is commensurate with experience and ability, ranging between $18 and $24 per hour. Qualified and interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, and portfolio.
