Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support and care to individuals with disabilities in the community . The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those we serve.
Duties
- Assist clients with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Provide personal care support, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction.
- Support clients in managing their daily routines and encourage independence .
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring safe travel to appointments or community events.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in behavior or health status.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to develop individualized care plans.
- Implement strategies for clients with specific needs such as dementia care or hospice care.
Experience
- Previous experience in home care, hospice care, or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and dietary restrictions is beneficial.
- Familiarity with CPR and first aid practices is an asset.
