Company Description Better Together Central Oregon is a nonprofit backbone organization focused on strengthening communities by supporting community-led solutions. Since 2015, the organization has connected and convened partners across Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson Counties and the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. Through collective action, Better Together aligns more than 400 partners to advance belonging, equity, and opportunity for Central Oregon families and over 67,000 youth. Recent efforts include convening regional councils, sponsoring community-rooted programs, and facilitating coordinated action in areas such as early learning, housing and education, youth voice, and Latinx success. Role Description The Outreach and Community Engagement Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Redmond, OR. This position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with community partners, families, youth, and local organizations to support community-led initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and facilitating outreach events, supporting convenings and councils, coordinating communications with partners, and gathering feedback from community members to inform program design. The coordinator will help manage outreach materials, maintain contact lists and engagement records, and collaborate with internal staff to align outreach activities with organizational priorities. The role also involves representing Better Together at community meetings, ensuring inclusive and culturally responsive engagement practices, and supporting evaluation and storytelling efforts that highlight community impact.

Qualifications

• Community outreach and engagement skills, including relationship building, facilitation, and public speaking.
• Experience in event planning and coordination, including logistics, communication, and follow-up with participants.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
• Organizational and project management skills, including time management, documentation, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of partners, including youth, families, schools, nonprofits, and tribal and community-based organizations.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and community-led approaches; experience serving diverse and marginalized communities is highly beneficial.
• Comfort working on-site in Central Eastside, OR, with occasional travel across Central Oregon for meetings and events.
• Proficiency with basic office and communication tools (e.g., email, calendars, shared documents; CRM or contact management systems a plus).
• Relevant experience in community organizing, social services, education, nonprofit work, or related fields; a combination of lived and professional experience is valued.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to adapt to changing community needs and priorities.
