Description:
The Title is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle (semi-truck and trailer) to transport finished goods, raw materials, and other freight between company facilities and distribution sites
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer in compliance with DOT regulations; document all inspections in the daily log book
- Verify that all loads are 100% accurate before departure, ensuring correct product, quantity, and destination
- Properly secure and load freight using a pallet jack, stretch wrap, and other load securement equipment
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date hours of service logs (ELD/paper log) in compliance with FMCSA regulations
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local DOT regulations, including weight limits, hours of service, and hazardous materials rules where applicable
- Report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or incidents to the Warehouse Manager promptly
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained vehicle at all times
- Communicate proactively with dispatch and the Warehouse Manager regarding route status, delays, and delivery issues
- Perform general warehouse duties as required in accordance with company safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Work collaboratively as a member of the transportation and warehouse team
- High School diploma or GED
- Pass the drug test and background check
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required
- Valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (Medical Card) required
- Clean driving record — MVR will be reviewed
- Minimum 1–2 years of verifiable Class A CDL driving experience preferred
- Working knowledge of FMCSA Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and ELD devices
- Ability to operate a pallet jack and standard material handling equipment
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, delivery documents, and memos
- Ability to perform basic math calculations (counting, weights, quantities)
- Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
