Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Authorization Specialist to join our durable medical supply team.Spanish speaking preferred ! candidate will be responsible for managing the authorization process for medical equipment, ensuring compliance with insurance requirements, Must have insurance knowledge and experience. Manage delivery process of authorized equipment. Salary will be compensated according to experience must have experience In medical field to be considered

Duties

• Review and process requests for prior authorizations
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to gather necessary documentation to support authorization requests.
• Utilize knowledge of ICD-10, ICD-9, and medical coding to accurately code diagnoses and procedures.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient information.
• Manage medical records efficiently to ensure all documentation is complete and up-to-date.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding their authorization status and any additional information needed.
• Work closely with managed care organizations to resolve any issues related to authorizations or denials

Experience
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• Previous experience in a medical office or medical supplies.
• Familiarity with insurance verification processes and managed care systems.
• Proficiency in medical coding practices, particularly with ICD-10 and ICD-9 codes.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple authorization requests efficiently.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• spanish speaking a plus.
