Location: Rio Rancho, New Mexico
Schedule: Saturday – Wednesday | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
(On-Call required on weekends)
Overview
Better Life Adult Living is seeking a dependable and experienced Lead DSP / House Lead / Weekend Supervisor to support daily operations at our residential home for adults with developmental disabilities in Rio Rancho, NM.
This is a full-time leadership position responsible for supervising evening shifts, overseeing weekend operations, supporting staff, and ensuring residents receive high-quality care in accordance with their service plans.
The person in this role must be organized, calm under pressure, able to lead a team, and comfortable handling on-call responsibilities during weekends.
This position works closely with the House Manager and leadership team to maintain strong communication, consistency, and compliance across all shifts.
Schedule (Set Schedule Required)
- Saturday — 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM (On-call required)
- Sunday — 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM (On-call required)
- Monday — 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
- Tuesday — 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
- Wednesday — 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
- Thursday & Friday — Off
Weekend on-call availability is required for emergencies, call-offs, or urgent needs.
Key ResponsibilitiesShift Leadership & Weekend Oversight
- Supervise evening shift operations and ensure proper staffing coverage
- Oversee weekend operations and serve as the primary support person for staff
- Ensure staff follow schedules, care plans, and house routines
- Assist with shift transitions and communication between staff
- Step in to provide direct care when needed
Resident Care & Compliance
- Ensure all residents receive care according to their Individual Service Plans (ISPs)
- Monitor documentation, MARs, and incident reports for accuracy
- Maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization in the home
- Ensure medication procedures and health protocols are followed
On-Call Responsibility (Weekends Required)
- Serve as the on-call supervisor during weekends
- Respond to call-offs, emergencies, or staff concerns
- Communicate major incidents to the House Manager or Program Director
- Help arrange coverage when needed
Staff Support & Communication
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to DSP staff
- Report weekend updates to leadership
- Assist with training, follow-ups, and performance concerns when needed
- Maintain professional communication with guardians, nurses, and case managers when required
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience as DSP, Lead DSP, or Supervisor preferred
- Experience working with developmental disabilities required
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Able to multitask and stay calm in high-pressure situations
- Comfortable with documentation and compliance procedures
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
Required:
- CPR / First Aid (or willing to obtain)
- Valid driver’s license
- Background check clearance
- Completion of agency training
