Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team. The RBT will work directly with children with developmental disabilities, including autism, providing evidence-based behavioral therapy and support. This role involves implementing individualized treatment plans, collecting data, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote positive behavioral change and skill development. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in applied behavior analysis (ABA), experience working with children, and a commitment to improving clients' quality of life through patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Implement behavior intervention plans based on ABA principles under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, dressing, and feeding
- Collect accurate data on client behaviors and progress to inform treatment adjustments
- Support clients in developing communication, social, and self-care skills through teaching strategies
- Maintain detailed and compliant medical documentation, including progress notes and care plans in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Foster a safe, supportive environment that encourages positive behavior management and skill acquisition
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and team members to ensure consistency in intervention strategies
- Adhere to all ethical standards related to patient care, confidentiality, and medical records management
Skills
- Prior work or personal experience with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, especially autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Ability to assist with ADLs and implement teaching methods tailored to individual needs
- Proficiency in data collection and documentation of behavioral progress
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with clients, families, and team members
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support individuals in achieving their full potential
