Position Summary:
The Better Business Bureau Serving Northern Indiana is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Marketing & Social Media Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a key role in sharing BBB’s message with the community, businesses, and consumers through digital engagement, video content, and promotional campaigns. Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, this position is essential in enhancing brand awareness, promoting BBB events, and supporting our communication efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media & Digital Engagement
- Create and schedule engaging content across BBB’s social media platforms
- Actively engage with followers and partners to grow online presence and brand trust
- Track and analyze social media performance using analytics tools to measure success and guide strategy
- Develop and execute strategies to increase reach, engagement, and awareness
Event Promotion & Brand Awareness
- Promote BBB programs and events to attract both consumers and businesses
- Assist in planning and marketing campaigns for public-facing events
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure cohesive messaging and timely communications
Video, Graphic Design & Visual Content Creation
- Develop short-form promotional videos to highlight BBB initiatives and Accredited Businesses.
- Design compelling visual content and graphics for digital and print using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere).
- Support branding and marketing efforts through cohesive graphic design and multimedia storytelling.
Media & Communications Support
- Serve as backup for Content & Communications Specialist by:
- Drafting talking points and press materials
- Scheduling and coordinating media interviews with local news outlets
Community Engagement Support
- Assist the Community Engagement Specialist (CES) by:
- Scheduling and coordinating presentations at schools, chambers, and civic organizations
- Supporting outreach efforts and ordering promotional materials (“swag”)
- Preparing and updating PowerPoint presentations as needed
Website Management
- Update website content as needed to reflect current events, promotional materials and other items as needed
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, or public relations
- Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with digital marketing platforms, social media scheduling tools, and email marketing
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop required)
- Technologically savvy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive
- Experience with content creation across various media formats.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Aptitude to learn and become proficient in additional software and web-based tools
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Passion for ethical business practices and community engagement
Educational Requirements:
- Associates degree or bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field is required
- Additional coursework or certifications in social media marketing, graphic design, or video production is a plus
- Familiarity with marketing analytics, SEO, and content creation tools is beneficial
