The Bettendorf Community School District is seeking a passionate and student-centered Special Education Teacher (Start I) to join our dedicated team. Salary:
$50,000 (BA, 04, 1.0 FTE, 20252026 Salary Schedule)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid Iowa teaching license with appropriate Special Education endorsement (or ability to obtain)
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Must be able to provide required I-9 documentation to verify eligibility to work in the United States.
Knowledge, Skills, and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct instruction tailored to individual student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Utilize data to inform instruction and track student progress
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district special education requirements
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
- Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development
