The Bettendorf Community School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher (Instructional Strategist II: ID) to support students with intellectual disabilities. Contract
Salary:
$50,000 (BA, 04, 1.0 FTE, 20252026 Salary Schedule)
Qualifications:
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid Iowa teaching license and endorsement
- Must be able to provide required I-9 documentation to verify eligibility to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience working with students with intellectual disabilities
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs and support individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Flexible, reliable, and team-oriented
Knowledge, Skills, and Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support for students with significant needs
- Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Implement and monitor IEP goals and accommodations
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Follow planned curriculum and adapt as needed to meet student goals
- Work under the supervision of building and special education leadership
