Duties
- Safely operate a box truck to deliver appliances to residential or commercial locations, adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws
- Assist with loading, unloading, and maneuvering large appliances such as refrigerators, washers, dryers, and ovens
- Ensure appliances are handled carefully to prevent damage during transit and installation
- Support the setup, assembly, and basic electrical or mechanical connections of appliances at the delivery site
- Communicate professionally with customers, providing courteous service and answering any questions about their new appliances
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs to ensure safe operation
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily delivery schedules efficiently and accurately
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with appliance or furniture deliveries
- Mechanical knowledge related to appliance repair, assembly, or equipment repair processes
- Ability to read schematics and understand electrical or refrigeration systems for troubleshooting purposes
- Customer service skills that foster positive interactions and resolve issues effectively
- Basic HVAC knowledge beneficial for handling refrigeration units or climate control appliances
- Familiarity with box trucks and safe driving practices in various traffic conditions
