- WEEKEND, ON-CALL, & HOLIDAY ROTATION
- Perform and lead daily maintenance operations in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
- Assist the Director of Maintenance with day-to-day facility operations.
- Lead preventive maintenance and repairs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Complete assigned work orders, inspections, and emergency repairs.
- Respond to on-call maintenance emergencies, including weekends and after-hours needs.
- Troubleshoot building system issues to maintain safe and efficient operations.
- Coordinate room turnovers, make-ready projects, and contractor activities.
- Monitor building systems, facility equipment, and common areas.
- Maintain grounds, dumpster areas, and facility cleanliness standards.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NYS DOH, CMS, and life safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory control, maintenance supplies, and equipment tracking.
- Support training and coordination of maintenance staff as directed.
- Monitor work performed by outside vendors and contractors.
- Report safety hazards, damages, and unusual facility conditions immediately.
- Maintain professional communication with residents, staff, visitors, and vendors.
- Carry communication devices and respond promptly to maintenance requests.
- Assist with snow removal, emergency response, and extended-hour coverage as needed.
- Deliver supplies, equipment, and materials throughout the facility as assigned.
- Minimum High School Diploma or High School Equivalent, required.
- AAS, Bachelor's Degree, Technical Certificate Program, and/or Trade School/Vocational Program completion in any of the following or related subject preferred; plumbing, electrical, industrial maintenance, facilities management, HVAC systems, construction management, environmental services, refrigeration, Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Industrial Safety Technology, Safety Management, Occupational Health & Safety Management, Environmental Safety & Risk Management, preferred.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification, a huge plus!
- Must have reliable transportation
- At least 2 years’ experience in maintenance/engineering, healthcare experience, required.
- Long Term Care and/or SNF experience as Maintenance Technician a huge plus!
- Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Must be reliable and dedicated to providing excellent service to our residents.
- Ability to work cohesively with residents, families, and staff from various departments.
- Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
