Transitional Kindergarten Lead Teacher Part Time
You are the vital bridge between our preschool program and our K-8 program!

Current Work Hours: 20 per week: 11:30am - 3:15pm - Monday - Friday
General Responsibilities
1. Model Christian faith and character
- Maintain an active relationship with God through prayer, Scripture, and regular worship.
- Demonstrate Christ‑like love, patience, and integrity in all interactions with children, families, and staff.
- Support and uphold the mission, values, and ministry of Bethlehem Lutheran School.
2. Create a nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment
- Plan and implement engaging lessons and activities that support cognitive, social, emotional, spiritual, and physical development.
- Foster a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom that encourages exploration, creativity, and independence.
- Use positive behavior‑guidance strategies to promote self‑regulation, cooperation, and a joyful learning atmosphere.
3. Build strong relationships with children and families
- Recognize each child as a unique child of God and provide individualized support based on developmental needs.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents/guardians regarding progress, concerns, and classroom happenings.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate respect in all family interactions.
4. Demonstrate professionalism and growth
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and incidents in accordance with school and state requirements.
- Complete required OCLQS and OCCRRA trainings and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Show flexibility, reliability, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to grow both spiritually and professionally.
- Present oneself in a professional manner in dress, communication, and conduct.
Qualifications
1. Minimum Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting.
- Willingness to obtain a medical statement and TB screening.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Training in communicable disease management and child abuse recognition (or willingness to obtain).
2. Preferred Qualifications
- Child Development Associate (CDA) or an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Previous experience working with young children in a preschool or childcare setting.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices.
