Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and inspiring Choir Director to lead our church’s musical worship and foster a vibrant, spiritually enriching choir community. In this role, you will oversee the development and execution of musical programs that elevate our worship services, promote spiritual growth, and strengthen community bonds. Duties

• Lead and coordinate church choir rehearsals, ensuring vocal and musical excellence in preparation for monthly service and special events
• Select appropriate music that aligns with liturgical themes, fostering spiritual engagement through praise and worship music conducting
• Conduct the choir during church service once per month ensuring seamless musical performance that complements the flow of worship
• Manage and mentor choir members, mentoring, and encouragement to develop their musical skills and confidence
• Collaborate with church leadership to plan musical segments for services, including choosing hymns, praise songs, and other liturgical music
• Coordinate with other music teams or instrumentalists to ensure cohesive musical arrangements for church events

Skills

• Proven experience in church choir conducting and church service musical performance
• Strong knowledge of musical liturgical practices, praise and worship music conducting, and reading sheet music
• Ability to lead with enthusiasm, communicate effectively with diverse groups, and inspire team members through leadership skills
• Familiarity with playing piano used in church settings
• Experience in managing music teams, selecting appropriate music for various services, and mentoring choir members of all skill levels
• Knowledge of religious leadership principles combined with excellent organizational skills to coordinate rehearsals and performances effectively

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5.0 – 10.0 per week
