Bethlehem Area Vocational Technical School (BAVTS) is seeking a knowledgeable and dependable Substitute Evening Residential Electrical Instructor to provide instructional coverage for our Adult and Continuing Education Residential Electrical Program on an as-needed basis.
This position is ideal for an experienced residential electrician who enjoys sharing their expertise and helping adult learners develop the knowledge and hands-on skills needed for success in the electrical industry.
Schedule
- Evening hours

- Classes are held at Bethlehem Area Vocational Technical School
Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom and hands-on instruction in residential electrical principles and practices.
- Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment.
- Demonstrate proper use of tools, equipment, materials, and industry-standard techniques.
- Reinforce National Electrical Code (NEC) concepts and safe work practices.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Follow the established curriculum and lesson plans.
- Maintain attendance and communicate with Adult Education administration as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential electrical work.
- Thorough knowledge of residential wiring methods, electrical systems, and applicable codes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively teach and mentor adult learners.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching or training experience.
- Journeyman or Master Electrician credentials.
- Experience with apprenticeships or workforce development programs.
Compensation
$30.00 per hour
