Pediatric Medical Assistant – Job Description
Bethesda Pediatrics is seeking a caring, dependable, and highly organized Pediatric Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. We are a fast‑paced, family‑centered practice, and we’re looking for someone who brings both clinical skill and a warm, patient‑first approach to every interaction.
⭐ Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and families with professionalism and compassion
- Room patients, obtain accurate vital signs, and document medical history
- Assist providers with pediatric exams, procedures, and vaccinations
- Prepare and administer vaccines following clinical protocols
- Perform point‑of‑care testing and basic lab procedures
- Collect and label specimens accurately
- Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam rooms
- Manage patient messages, phone calls, and EMR documentation
- Support prescription refills, referrals, and forms
- Follow infection‑control and safety guidelines
- Provide clear instructions to parents and caregivers
- Collaborate with providers and staff to ensure smooth patient flow
⭐ Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) preferred
- Pediatric experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication and customer‑service skills
- Ability to multitask and stay calm in a busy environment
- Comfortable working with infants, children, and adolescents
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic/MyChart is a plus)
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
