What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Worker position at Bethesda of Beresford?
The Director of Social Services is responsible to the Administrator. The director shall provide medically related social services to meet the needs of the residents and their families, in order to assist with maintaining or improving the residents’ ability to manage their every day physical, mental, and psychosocial needs. This will involve working cooperatively with other personnel, the medical staff, social service agencies/organizations and third party payors.
A current working knowledge of appropriate policies and procedures concerning the various benefits and forms of assistance; along with requirements and regulations of state and federal agencies. The director must possess a general knowledge of communication skills and family dynamics. The director is expected to participate in professional organizations and continuing education related to the position.
The ideal candidate must also be willing to be help assist with the nursing department, as required from all leadership positions.
