PAY FOR THIS POSITION: WASHINGTON STATE MINIMUM WAGE - $ 16.66 / hour
General Summary
The Bethel Technology Services Department is seeking motivated and tech-savvy students for a summer internship. This position's responsibilities are to assist the full-time Bethel Technicians with specialized summer job duties. This position provides hands-on experience supporting school technology systems and devices in a K-12 educational environment. Interns will assist with setup, maintenance, and deployment of technology resources across school buildings.
Preference will go to current or recently graduated Bethel and PCSC students.
Essential Functions
Depending upon the individual assignment, the Summer Student Technician may perform all or a combination of the following:
Reports to the Director of Operational Technology
MENTAL DEMANDS
Required concentration and attention to detail. Must be able to work under pressure and meet assigned deadlines. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule and be on call for emergency situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Required to sit for prolonged periods; required to remain in confined work area; exposed to visual display terminal for prolonged periods.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
Education, training, skills, and experience necessary to carry out the assignment, including the operation of computer network hardware and software.
Allowable Substitutions
Such alternatives to the above qualifications that the district may find appropriate and acceptable.
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively. Skill in computer operation. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows for Workgroups, Windows XP, Windows 7, Word, Excel, Access, implementation, testing and troubleshooting.
Licenses/Special Requirements
W.A.T.C.H. Background check will be conducted to determine that there have been no convictions involving physical molestation, abuse, injury or neglect of a minor. Must complete training in and adhere to district infection control plan.

- General computer /AV/ Telecom maintenance
- Computer reformatting, imaging and updating
- Imaging of new computers
- Inventory of existing and new computers
- Relocation and set up of computers
- Assistance at Summer institute Technology offerings
- Set up of technology at new schools
- Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position
