Minimum Qualifications
- Valid and appropriate ESA certification as counselor or social worker.
- Demonstrated desire and ability to work and communicate effectively with staff, students and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Successful experience working with students through Professional Learning Communities.
- Prior experience with and/or knowledge of the role of the social worker preferred.
- Ability to conduct parent training.
- Ability to conduct individual/group casework with students.
- Experience in working with physically and sexually abused children.
- Ability to function as an effective member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team/504 committee.
- Experience in behavior contracting.
- Background in substance abuse prevention.
- Background in suicide prevention.
- Background in anger management.
- Ability to develop and follow an organizational plan.
- Knowledge/experience working in areas of: substance abuse prevention/intervention, child abuse, ADD/ADHD, suicide prevention/intervention, violence prevention education (Second Step), grant writing, parent support and education, and anger management.
- Provide guidance in IEP writing.
