Manager Trainee Job Description
The primary role of a Retail Manager Trainee/Assistant Manager is to learn every facet of running a retail store while actively contributing to profitability, team morale, and high-quality customer service. Trainees typically rotate through various store departments—such as receiving and processing donations, stocking inventory on the sales floor, and promoting the sales of inventory— to build a comprehensive foundation in leadership and store operations.
Essential Functions of the Job
· Will learn to lead and equip team to reveal Christ in every aspect of their job, to each other, donors, customers, and volunteers.
· Will learn to perform all phases of store operations by shadowing and working with the management of each department to learn and demonstrate the skills needed to manage a store successfully.
· Will work shifts across all departments to gain a knowledge of each position in the store.
· Will follow company procedures in both daily processing and sales and learn to cover any department in the absence of the Manager.
· Will execute store visual standards, create promotional displays, and drive revenue to meet store targets.
· Will act as the leader on duty, address any customer or team member complaints, and ensure a welcoming shopping and work environment.
· Will gain knowledge of systems in place to maintain security protocols, register reconciliation, deposit handling, and storefront readiness.
· Will be responsible for producing and submitting all necessary paperwork, reports, etc. in a timely manner.

Planning/Organizational Skills

· Must be able to prioritize the needs of the store in an effective and efficient manner according to the standards set by Director of Operations.
· Must possess a demonstratable level of skill and proficiency in planning to meet established goals.
Key Requirements
· High school diploma or GED required.
· 1 year of retail, sales, or supervisory experience preferred, but we will train the right applicant.
· Ability to be teachable to learn strong leadership and customer service skills, perform needed tasks that help the team reach their daily, weekly, and monthly goals.
· Ability to stand and walk 99% of the shift and will be moving and lifting 25 pounds or more throughout the day.
Work Schedule/Hours
· Full time, 34 hours per week, Monday through Saturday
· Paid attendance at specific meetings, off-site events or training, as required.
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
