What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Bethel College (North Newton, KS)?
Job Summary:
Responsible for maintaining a clean and healthy environment for campus buildings to include offices, classrooms, hallways and bathrooms.
Essential Functions:
· Clean, sanitize and stock bathrooms
· Vacuum, sweep, dust mop all floors
· Empty all trash receptacles
· Clean all glass doors and dust surface areas of buildings
· Change light bulbs as needed
· Strip and wax floors semi-annually
· Shampoo and extract all carpeted areas annually
· Clean chalkboards and whiteboards as needed
Supervisory Responsibility:
· Student workers as needed
Education and/or Experience:
· High school diploma or GED required. Minimum two years custodial experience preferred
Skills Required
· Working knowledge of cleaning equipment
· Time management skills
Physical Demands:
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Ability to move freely around campus including going up and down stairs
· Ability to run industrial cleaning equipment
· Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, climb, etc. on a daily basis
