Position Overview
We are seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist to provide direct support to individuals with behavioral and emotional needs, including foster youth and individuals with IDD.
This role involves working closely with clients in home and community settings while implementing behavioral strategies and supporting daily routines.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and behavioral support (1:1 or small group)
- Implement Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and interventions
- Support clients with emotional regulation and coping skills
- Assist with daily living activities (meals, hygiene, routines)
- Document services and behaviors in Therap or approved systems
- Use de-escalation and trauma-informed care techniques
- Transport clients to activities, appointments, and outings
- Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment
Qualifications
- Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in behavioral health, IDD, foster care, or similar field
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Preferred:
- RBT certification or behavioral training
- Experience with autism, trauma, or high-needs youth
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain)
Work Environment
- In-home, community-based, and occasional day program settings
- Active role requiring engagement and supervision
- Supportive team and ongoing training provided
