Accounts Payable Clerk

Job Summary:

The Accounts Payable Clerk will be under the general supervision of the Director of Finance. This position will complete payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

· Pay all Bethany invoices and expenses.

· Assist Director of Finance with special projects.

· Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoices/expense reports; recording entries.

· Maintain positive vendor relationships.

· Resolve any purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies.

· Ensure credit is received for credit memos and payments.

· Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.

· Process checks for payment of invoices/expenses.

· Mail payments with necessary attachments.

· Maintains historical records by filing documents.

· Provide look-up for managers with inquiries about vendor payments, accounts charged, or other information pertaining to A/P processing.

· Protect organization’s value by keeping all information confidential.

· Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

· Serve as backup for Billing, Payroll, and other Accounting/Finance functions as needed.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

· Associates Degree in business or accounting, or equivalent experience.

· 2-5 years of related experience.

Skills:

· PC Proficient, detail oriented, organized, a good communicator, analytical, skilled at tracking expenses and payments, and have a high standard of accuracy.
