Equipment Utility Operator

Full-time Regular (36 hours) – hourly

6:00 am – 6:00 pm (Three days a week, OT as needed)

Salary range: $24 to $27 per hour

Bethany Press prints and binds books for publishers and ministries using both traditional offset equipment and new state-of-the-art inkjet equipment. You are hardworking, have an eye for detail, can maximize production, and can meet quality and efficiency standards by operating various pieces of equipment in our printing and binding operation. You can adapt to changing workflows and production methods. You are self-motivated and self-managed but humble enough to ask for assistance when needed. 

What you’ll do:

Production Performance and Quality

• Meet or exceed established production, efficiency, and throughput goals.
• Work to continuously enhance productivity and profitability.
• Follow quality control procedures to ensure customer and company standards are consistently achieved.
• Set up and operate equipment to accommodate job specifications.
• Perform general and preventative maintenance of machines.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, including potential replacement and repair needs.

Communication

• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment built on respect, accountability, and open communication.
• Clearly communicate with management regarding issues that may hinder achieving operational goals.
• Work with the scheduler and supervisor to meet daily production requirements.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient workflow, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.

Organization, Compliance, and Safety

• Follow standard operating procedures that promote consistency, efficiency, and quality.
• Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of departmental activities and key performance indicators.
• Adhere to workplace safety rules and follow all safety instructions provided by the safety committee.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workplace that complies with company policies and gov’t regulations.

Position Requirements:

• Able to work 36 hours, willingly work overtime as necessary.
• Ability to repeatedly lift and carry 50 lbs. 
• Be flexible and willing to work where needed.
• Ability to stand for entire production shift plus crouch, crawl, pull, reach, and endure repetitive motions 
• Communicate with excellence in English; both written and spoken
• Be self-managed, requiring little or no supervision to do the daily activities of their job
