What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Aide position at Bethany Lutheran Health Services and Careers?
General Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to set up dining room area in a neat, attractive manner; serve meals; and clean kitchen according to instructions. Must perform duties as assigned to maintain a sanitary environment. Such duties must be in accordance with federal, state and local standards, guidelines, regulations that govern Bethany Lutheran Home and as may be required by the Dietary Manager or Dietary Supervisor to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
Qualifications:
Must be able to read/write and follow verbal instructions.
Must be able to read and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
Must take required study courses.
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Required Experience
Set up dining room in neat, attractive manner.
Serve meals according to menu and diet restrictions offering alternatives to residents.
Serve fluids and nourishments according to instructions.
Set up breakfast juices.
Pick up dirty dishes and wash in dish machine.
Sanitize equipment and workstation according to instruction.
Attends all in-service education as assigned.
Sweep/mop floors.
Remove refuse.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day.
Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a minimum of 3ft.
Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents in an emergency situation.
Must be able to stoop, reach for, bend, lift, and carry food and equipment.
Must be able to tolerate extremes of heat and cold.
Exposure to chemicals used to clean and sanitize work area and equipment.
