Staff Accountant

Bethany Home – Sioux Falls & Brandon, SD

Starting Wage: $23–$25/hour

Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about supporting a mission-driven team? Bethany Home is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing organization. This position plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of our senior living communities while helping us continue our mission of providing compassionate care to those we serve.

What You’ll Do

As our Staff Accountant, you will assist with a variety of accounting and financial functions including:

• Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts
• Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Preparing journal entries and financial reports
• Assisting with payroll processing and benefit reconciliations
• Reconciling bank statements and credit card transactions
• Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Assisting with resident billing and collections
• Monitoring cash flow and account balances
• Maintaining fixed asset and depreciation records
• Supporting internal and external audits
• Providing occasional receptionist coverage as needed
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of one year of related accounting experience
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Strong Excel and computer skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
