Bethany Early Childhood Education Center is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Afternoon Preschool Teacher to join our two-year-old classroom team. The ideal candidate has a genuine love for working with young children, enjoys creating a nurturing and engaging environment, and is committed to supporting each child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through play-based learning and positive interactions.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Independently lead the afternoon classroom by implementing age-appropriate activities, crafts, and the daily schedule and lesson plans while creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, snack time, and transitions throughout the afternoon.
- Share and engage children in the weekly Bible story through meaningful activities, songs, and conversations.
- Comfort children and help guide age-appropriate behavior using positive reinforcement and redirection.
- Encourage the development of social skills, independence, and emotional regulation through everyday interactions and play.
- Change diapers and assist with toileting while following all health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to lift children (up to 30 pounds), including safely lifting children onto the changing table for diaper changes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom by disinfecting, cleaning tables, and assisting with daily classroom closing duties.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents, coworkers, and administration.
- Follow all licensing regulations and center policies to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of every child.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in a preschool, childcare, or daycare setting is preferred.
- A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their growth and development.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently while maintaining a safe and nurturing classroom environment.
- Ability to actively engage with children throughout the day, including standing, sitting on the floor, bending, kneeling, and participating in classroom activities.
- Patience, flexibility, creativity, and a positive attitude.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Days of the Week: Monday through Friday
Hours: 12:20 PM - 6:00 PM
Pay: $14.00 per hour
