The Instructional Aide is responsible for providing academic support to individual students or small groups of students to help them succeed. Assists the teacher in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.
Work Schedule: 28.75 hours per week/5.75 hours per day/9:00 am to 3:15 pm
Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour
Benefits: Some, no health benefits
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher is required.
- Valid Connecticut State Department of Education Certification in Elementary Education is preferred.
- Experience with developmentally appropriate, inquiry-based teaching and learning.
- Experience with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is preferred.
- Experience working with children is preferred.
- Demonstrates ethical, courteous, patient, and professional behavior in working with the administration, staff, students, and families.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong skills and concepts in all academic areas.
The Bethany Community School is an elementary school, grades PK to 6, located in central Bethany on an extensive rural campus.
