Position Summary
Bethany College, a distinguished institution committed to academic excellence and student success seeks a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and versatile professional to serve as the Director of Bethany Online. As an individual contributor operating in a startup environment, the Director will function as both strategist and executor, leading the vision for Bethany’s online graduate degrees and certificate programs while personally managing day-to-day engagement with prospective students, corporate partners, and international recruitment channels.
This role requires a self-driven builder who can move seamlessly from planning to execution and who can design, launch, and personally execute work. The Director will respond promptly to inquiries, nurture relationships, document activity in the appropriate systems, and ensure timely follow up that leads to successful student matriculation. The Director is the front line of Bethany Online and is accountable for delivering a seamless, high touch recruitment and enrollment experience.
The Director will also drive market aligned program growth, expand employer partnerships, support international recruitment, and collaborate closely with academic and administrative leaders to build a strong and sustainable online portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership for Bethany Online
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine the strategic plan for Bethany Online, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and market needs.
- Operate as an entrepreneurial leader, proactively identifying opportunities and removing barriers in a developing online division.
- Use data analytics, market research, and enrollment insights to shape recruitment, marketing, and program development strategies.
- Oversee the entire enrollment lifecycle from inquiry through matriculation, ensuring a consistent, high quality, and responsive student experience.
Hands-On Enrollment Execution
- Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective online students, providing timely, personalized outreach and guidance.
- Document all communication, interactions, and progress in CRM and SIS systems, ensuring accuracy and continuity of the experience.
- Monitor pipeline progression daily and execute follow up to drive inquiry, application, deposit, and enrollment conversion.
- Deliver high touch communications through phone, email, text, and virtual meetings.
Program Growth and Innovation
- Monitor workforce and industry trends to identify new program opportunities, micro credentials, and employer driven offerings.
- Collaborate with deans and faculty to inform program design, modality, and student support needs for adult learners.
- Recommend enhancements to pricing structures, student funding approaches, and student services specific to online learners.
Corporate and Strategic Partnerships
- Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with employers, nonprofits, government agencies, healthcare providers, and community partners.
- Serve as Bethany Online’s representative at events, meetings, and presentations to grow awareness and opportunities.
- Draft partnership agreements and coordinate implementation with internal stakeholders.
International Recruitment and Global Engagement
- Develop and execute strategies to recruit and enroll international students into online programs.
- Manage relationships with international recruitment agencies, education consultants, and global organizations.
- Partner with campus staff and Smart Adventures to ensure smooth onboarding and compliance.
- Create culturally responsive marketing and communication approaches.
Marketing, Branding and Digital Strategy
- Partner with Marketing and Communications to design and execute integrated marketing campaigns.
- Ensure each program’s value proposition is clearly defined and consistently communicated.
- Track campaign performance metrics and adjust tactics to maximize return on investment.
Enrollment Operations and Experience Excellence
- Manage CRM Element451 and SIS Colleague workflows to optimize inquiry management, application processing, and communication flows.
- Generate regular KPI reports including pipeline activity, forecasts, conversion metrics, and yield.
- Implement process improvements to strengthen continuity, responsiveness, and student satisfaction.
Institutional Collaboration
- Serve as the primary liaison across Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management, Marketing, and Financial Aid for online program initiatives.
- Engage in institutional planning efforts related to online learning and workforce development.
- Represent Bethany Online at campus meetings, community engagements, and virtual events.
Institutional Compliance and Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, accreditation requirements, and institutional policies in all aspects of online program operations.
- Maintain awareness of legal, regulatory, and best practice standards for online education and enrollment management.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals of Bethany Online and the College.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
- Three to five years of experience in online education, graduate enrollment, business development, or related fields.
- Proven success generating and managing organizational partnerships.
- Strong communication, analytical, and relationship building skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands on execution.
- Flexibility for occasional evening and weekend responsibilities.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
