As a UC Therapist, you will provide trauma-informed individual and group therapy to unaccompanied youth (primarily Spanish-speaking and ages 16-18) in our Transitional or Long-Term Foster Care programs. You will play a vital role in helping youth heal, adjust, and reunify with family when possible - all while working in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

As a UC Therapist, you will provide trauma-informed individual and group therapy to unaccompanied youth (primarily Spanish-speaking and ages 16-18) in our Transitional or Long-Term Foster Care programs. You will play a vital role in helping youth heal, adjust, and reunify with family when possible - all while working in a supportive, mission-driven environment.
Your Responsibilities May Include But Are Not Limited To
- Conduct weekly individual and group therapy sessions;
- Complete intake assessments within 24-48 hours of arrival;
- Administer trafficking assessments;
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation;
- Provide court reports as needed;
- Support family reunification through additional counseling;
- Participate in treatment team meetings and supervision;
- Stay current on best practices, licensing requirements, and trainings;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What will make you successful
- This position requires a m aster ’ s degree in c ounseling, s ocial w ork, p sychology, or related field of study from an accredited college;
- Active license in state of Michigan;
- Experience with trauma-informed care and diverse populations;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Strong clinical, therapeutic, and crisis intervention skills;
- Must be 21 years old with a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years driving experience to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany. Must also pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage;
- Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
- Documentation of immunity to vaccine preventable diseases or the willingness to receive vaccination or seek an exemption;
- Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity.
