Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
- Ensure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are used safely and stored properly.
- Conduct regular inspections of school facilities to identify maintenance needs and report issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of school events and activities, including moving furniture and setting up equipment.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including sidewalks, playgrounds, and entryways, ensuring they are clean and free of debris.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as necessary, notifying the supervisor when stock is low.
- Follow established safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with other staff members to address specific cleaning requests or concerns.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work is a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, as well as safety practices.
- Must pass a background check and comply with all school district policies and procedures.
