Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. Duties

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans that promote literacy, math, social-emotional skills, and overall childhood development
  • Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, organized, and engaging environment for students with various learning needs
  • Provide physical assistance and behavioral support to students with disabilities or behavioral disorders, ensuring their safety and participation in activities
  • Collaborate with other professionals such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and special education coordinators to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Use effective behavior management techniques tailored to students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) or developmental disabilities
  • Incorporate communication skills like American Sign Language (ASL) when appropriate to enhance student engagement and understanding
  • Assist in lesson planning and curriculum development aligned with early childhood education standards and the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requirements
  • Support classroom activities that foster literacy education, basic math skills, and social interaction among children
  • Handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining professionalism at all times

Experience

  • Prior experience working with children in preschool or childcare settings is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs or disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders or behavioral challenges
  • Knowledge of classroom management strategies for diverse learners and behavior management techniques for students with developmental disabilities
  • Familiarity with early childhood education principles such as Montessori or other child-centered approaches is advantageous
  • Experience working within private school environments or special education classrooms is a plus
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—are essential for collaborating effectively with team members and families
  • Basic math skills and understanding of childhood development concepts are required to support curriculum activities effectively
